Within Perth itself, there are many museums and attractions to occupy your time, such as the Berndt Museum of Anthropology with its collection of Aboriginal exhibits, and the Museum of Western Australia, but the real attractions are the ones that you will find when you head out into the surrounding areas to explore.
The Bungle Bungles in the Kimberly mountains are some of the strangest rock formations on earth, and are fairly remote, meaning that few people even knew of their existence until 1982, while a fair distance south east of Perth, you can see the tall trees of the Karri forest, where there are pathways that take you up into the canopy, a vertigo inducing height above the ground.
