The city hosts many events throughout the year and there is certain to be something that appeals to almost everybody. Many events follow the Catholic Calendar, and Christmas is a big day, as is 23rd April, St Georges day as he is patron of the city.
Spanish National Day on 12th October is grudgingly celebrated by the wannabe independent Catalans, but they take advantage of a day off to enjoy the partying and fun that is on offer.
Throughout November, a Jazz festival takes place throughout the city, and there are plenty of free shows in bars to go to throughout the month.
